Love

All you need is love. Love is all you need.

Love is the fundamental nature of the universe. G.O.D. is love. I am love. You are love. Everything, everywhere, all the time, is love. Anything else, isn't real.

Pretty heady stuff, I know, but in a way, it isn't. It is so simple yet we make it so complicated.

I know that anytime I feel bad it is because I am out of synch with the most loving part of myself. My Highest Self is only love and that negative feeling is my indicator that I have veered away from that source of eternal wellbeing.

I am learning to love myself. I have good days and not so good days but overall, when I can calm my mind for a bit and remember this universal truth, all of my "problems" melt away and I return to love.

I see others through the eyes of love. I forgive my mistakes and am better able to forgive others, too. I am more patient with myself, and am more patient with others, too. The abundant nature of love that is my truest nature allows me to see it in everyone and everything else. Every time I reject my own love, I choose fear. I create my own suffering and perpetuate the suffering of others. As I return to love, I become free.

Marianne Williamson's book A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles" has a beautiful quote that I think about often:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
